Make Some Musical Shakers

Shakers can be made out of just about anything: containers with lids (for example, film canisters, potato chip cans, popcorn cans, coffee cans, empty dishwasher detergent bottles or empty pop bottles), plastic Easter eggs that can be taken apart and filled, salt and pepper shakers, tin pie plates and so on. Simply fill the container with something that will make a really satisfying noise when shaken—marbles, rice, pasta, beans, nuts and bolts or small rocks —and then glue the lid on tightly.
