The Cost of Raising Kids (Priceless?)

Raising children is an expensive venture. (Oh, but so worth every penny, of course.) If you want to get a look at what you may actually be shelling out over the years, check out this annual expenditures chart published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

I don't have kids yet...I will in 9 months though.  I can't imagine that this is acurate, I mean we already pay for all of that stuff.  I think that the budget might need to go up a little but not nearly as much as they are suggesting.

First of all I couldnt download the list, but I have 3 kids and its not that bad. You use hand me down clothes, I breastfeed so there is no formula, baby food isnt that expensive and go to Costco for diapers and wipes which adds up to about $30 a month. I work from home so there is no childcare cost. Yeah, they get more expensive later, but I would say kids cost about $100 a month at most if you dont have to pay for childcare or formula.

wow the statistics in this case is so not true from where I come fro, I first use the kids clothes from previous kids, which saves alot, and then I buy diapers that are store brand cause they are cheaper and work just the same, then as far as food, not much of a change there when I have to eat too, so you just puree the leftovers, for your baby.Whoever spends as much as their entire paycheck straight on their kids is crazy! if you ask me........
