Biography

Alan D. Rogol, M.D., Ph.D., is a professor of clinical pediatrics specializing in endocrinology at the University of Virginia. He is also secretary of the Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society, the largest group of endocrinologists in North America. In addition, Dr. Rogol is president of ODR Consulting, which works with major pharmaceutical companies on drug safety issues and the design of studies involving children and adolescents.
Dr. Rogol has given lectures at many venues around the world and has published over 250 peer-reviewed articles and 150 book chapters and review articles. He obtained both his M.D. and Ph.D. (in physiology) at Duke University. He completed a pediatric residency at Johns Hopkins and a fellowship in endocrinology at the National Institutes of Health.
