Biography

Catherine Donnelly, Ph.D., is a professor of nutrition and food science at the University of Vermont and an internationally known expert on food microbiology. She is an authority on the bacterial pathogen listeria monocytogenes and has published numerous articles and delivered hundreds of presentations on listeria.

Dr. Donnelly is codirector of the Vermont Institute for Artisan Cheese, the nation's first comprehensive center devoted to artisan cheese. From 1999 to 2004, the U.S. Secretaries for Agriculture and Health and Human Services appointed Dr. Donnelly to the National Advisory Committee on the Microbiological Criteria for Foods.
