Dr. Charles Sophy serves as medical director for the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (D.C.F.S.), which is responsible for the physical and mental health of nearly 40,000 foster children. As measured by the number of children served, Los Angeles' D.C.F.S. is one of the nation's largest such operations. In addition, Dr. Sophy has a private psychiatry practice in Beverly Hills.
