Dr. Donna Volpitta

Donna Volpitta is an educational consultant and parent advocate living in Stamford, Conn., where she serves on the Stamford Public Schools Parent Advisory Board to the Director of Special Education. She was a classroom teacher for many years in both public and private schools before she left to earn her doctoral degree in Learning dis/Abilities from Teachers College, Columbia University. She has authored several articles, received a grant from the U.S. Department of Education and has given presentations at numerous professional conferences.

Professionally, Dr. Volpitta is interested in working with both teachers and parents to ensure that all students have access to appropriate education. She is the mother of three children: Marco (born in 2002), Jenna (born in 2003) and Sarah (born in 2005).
