Biography

Jeff Palitz is a licensed marriage and family therapist (M.F.T.) currently practicing in San Diego, CA. Jeff earned his B.S. in psychology from the University of California, San Diego and went on to complete his M.S. in counseling at San Diego State University. During his training, he worked for two years at the Center for Community Solutions, where he treated women who had survived sexual assault and domestic violence. He went on to work for Mental Health Systems, Inc., one of the largest providers of mental health services in San Diego County. During his three years there, he worked with high-risk youth and their families, collaborating with their schools and other service providers to change clients' behaviors and develop positive plans for their futures.
Since 2005, Jeff has worked for PsyCare, Inc., a group medical practice that includes therapists, psychologists, social workers and psychiatrists. His diverse experience at PsyCare includes working with couples, families, teens, children, gay/lesbian individuals and couples, victims of sexual assault and domestic violence, as well as interfaith, multicultural and blended families. He works with patients with all types of diagnoses, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, helping them work through personal crises and develop long-term coping skills and relationship strategies. He currently focuses primarily on couples, families and children, emphasizing parenting skills and cognitive-behavioral interventions.
