Jenny Friedman, Ph.D., has been volunteering with her family for more than 20 years. After receiving her doctorate from Northwestern University in 1984, she worked as a teacher and clinician. Herself the mother of three children, she has written more than 100 articles on issues of parenting, child development and education for both local and national magazines, including American Baby, Parenting and Parents. She is the author of The Busy Family's Guide to Volunteering
