Joanne Larsen, R.D.

Joanne Larsen holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in nutrition. She is a registered and licensed dietitian with over 25 years' experience in nutrition counseling in hospitals, nursing homes, outpatient clinics (including an eating disorders program) and on the Internet. As the developer and editor for the American Dietetic Association's new online diet manual, Joanne created a research-based nutrition practice manual used by thousands of dietitians in hospitals, clinics and nursing homes. Her Web site, Ask the Dietitian, has won many awards and is the longest-running Web site to provide nutrition information to consumers.

Joanne has been designing nutrition software and databases since 1989; a Web publisher since 1995 and a Palm Pilot developer since 2000. She is an accomplished cook, to which her two sons can testify.
