Judith A. Myers-Walls, Ph.D., C.F.L.E., is an Associate Profession and Extension Specialist in the Department of Child Development and Family Studies at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. She has degrees in psychology and child development and has been a Certified Family Life Educator since 1991. Her responsibilities at Purdue include teaching courses on children and parenting, advising students and conducting research. She also works with outreach activities outside the academic environment, translating research findings in the area of human development for use by the general public. Her primary areas of interest are the cultural context of families, parenting education and how parents and children talk about difficult issues such as war and peace.
