Mavis N. Schorn, C.N.M., Ph.D., has been a nurse-midwife for nearly 20 years and is a leader in the national nurse-midwifery arena. As head of the Nurse-Midwifery program at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, she guides her students through education, teaching and research.
In addition to shaping the vision of the school's popular program, Schorn continues to see patients weekly at the Vanderbilt nurse-midwifery practice. She has dedicated her career to providing health care for women throughout their lives, with special emphasis on childbirth.
