Biography

Sharron Dalton, Ph.D., R.D., is a member of a consulting team that helped develop the just-launched Kidfresh brand of freshly prepared, healthy dishes for children up to age 10. A pediatric nutritionist, she holds a Ph.D. from New York University, where she is now an associate professor at the department of nutrition, food studies and public health. She recently published a book on child obesity, Our Overweight Children: What Parents, Schools, and Communities Can Do to Control the Fatness Epidemic.
Dr. Dalton focuses her studies on food choice behavior, childhood obesity, body weight management and international nutrition. She serves on the School Food Plus Coalition, an advisory group to the New York City Department of Education, and works with the Road Runners Foundation program to promote physical activity and healthy eating in city schools. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association, the North American Society for the Study of Obesity, the American Obesity Association and the Society for Nutrition Education.
