I have been sleeping issues with my 2 year old kid before, finally after encouraging him to have bedtime stories and half an hour educational dvd watching, it helped me put him to sleep easily and for him to sleep better every night and on time.

My 2years old daughter kept getting up at 3am, she will suddenly fuss and I have to go to sleep in her bed with her the rest of the night. I don't know why she did that and I don't know how to stop her doing that.

She had routine, she doesn't drink much before sleep and she goes to bed at the same time every night. I read her a story every night. I can't think of anything to make it better. Can anyone help me?

I work late (till about 7:30pm) 2-3 days a week and my husband works that same 12 hours daily. So our night time routine is... LATE. I have an almost 3 year old daughter and we are lucky to get her to sleep before 10:30. Here's the routine and please HELP!!! Supper about 8, then "wind down time" 8:30-9:15; Bath; then "night night milk" warmed. Sometimes we will go through 2-3 glasses. We have been laying by her in her bed but watch TV. She will go through 3-4 shows before dozing off. I have tried to limit shows, telling her we are only going to watch 2 shows and then TV goes off. But she throws a full fledged fit.

HELP!!!!! I want to go to sleep before 10PM!! Thanks

Our bedtime routine includes me reading a chapter book to the kids with calming music playing.  If they want to hear the story they must be quiet, but I let them wiggle in their beds.  I found that with my boys (twins 3.5years) the more stimulation they get during bedtime, the longer it takes to get them to sleep.  Yelling at them during times of tantrums and/or hyperness only gets me a free two kids in my bed at midnight ticket.  So during said times, i quietly leave the room after I turn the light out and say goodnight.  I have noticed that when my husband (daddy) puts them to bed it is entirely different!  Right now I am reading them Moominpappa at Sea.  It was previously Wind in the Willows.  Find your natural reading rhythm and that will act as a lullaby!  Laughing

I've been doing a few of these tips all along. My daughter usually eats a yogurt or toast with peanut butter before bed. I also use a dora night light. Before the night light she cried about monsters, but now she wants to sleep in her room. Then I usually tell her a story and then rub her back. It's puts her right to sleep. The only problem is how long the process is!

I had to write to say that I had decided to let me 2 yo "cry it out" tomorrow p.m.  I was at my wits end.  I happen to come across this article while he was in his crib "watching tv."  I went right into the room, turned off the tv, laid him on my bed, found a classical music station on the radio, started to massage some of his favorite spots (back of his arm and elbow and back of his neck).  UNBELIEVABLE!  As I write this, I cannot believe that 15-20 mins. and he is KNOCKED OUT!  Thank you so much for these tips!!!!!

I definitely use #5. I found out that when my son was ready for bed, I just massaged between the neck and shoulder area (where the Trapezius muscles are) and his eyes closed and after about a minute or two he was out. Of course, making sure your kid is worn out from lots of playtime helps too!

Thanks for the tips!

I can vouch for number 9! We have 3 kids and take bedtime seriously. Between 7 and 8 in the evening we're all about consistency, and have no trouble getting them to come down and going to bed.

I thought night lights caused vision problems? I guess I'll research that further. Maybe it's just an urban legend. Great tips tho'! Thanks!
