I truly believe this new vaccine has caused my children to develop autism. It is a new shot they introduced around 2000 and this in when an influx of autism causes arised. Also, I know parents who have male children where one son was vaccinated with the prevnair shot and developed autism and in another cause the other son was not vaccinated with prevnair because he was older and did not have autism. The government does not want to admit to any wrongdoing and have to pay back billions of dollars so this prevnair shot is still out there hurting other children. Please spread the word so that no more innocent children develop autism.
Thanks.

whole situation. Both of my daughters have had the MMR vaccine that my doctor explained to me was thought to cause Autism. But my thought is I would rather have my children vaccinated.

that, which had coal tar in it? I wish I could remember more about it. All I know is it was the only thing that really helped my kids when their eczema got bad (and it did get bad...)

... Hydrocortozone cream is okay to use also. Another thing that helps is to give him cooler baths , the warmer water seems to make it worse.

... to use on their faces. My doctor also said that after a bath a good thing to use is Aquaphor but it is really greasy. It does keep their skin lubed up and protected. But there could be a reason why it is on your child's face. I haven't change my daughter's diet but I did start to use a new shampoo that had a built in conditioner. I have since stopped using it. And the eczema on her forehead seems alot better. I hope that helps! :o)

Baby Bath (the all-in-one soap & shampoo) and the Aveeno Baby Lotion (the one with the dark blue lid, not the light blue lid) and it has worked wonders- plus this lotion is not greasy at all! Also, the doctor recommended bathing her less often- this really helped too. We had been giving her a bath every other day, but switched to every two days- just cleaning her up and lotioning in between.
I had eczema as a toddler as well, especially on my cheeks, and my childhood doctor used to tell her to rub Crisco (yes, the fat-in-a-can stuff) on my cheeks! Sounds gross, but I guess that worked too! I never had any skin problems or acne from it, but I don't know if that's still recommended or not...
Good luck to you- I hope it gets better!

... nothing is working! The kids are in bed, so I am going to try and relax. But any suggestions are welcome! Thanks!

... pack over my eyes. But sometimes, when i feel a migraine coming on, i'll drink a very strong cup of coffee and the extra caffeine helps knock out the headache before it knocks me out. Also, for some reason, running very hot water over my hands and wrists makes the symptoms of my headache lessen. Don't know why but it works! Good Luck.!

... patch, they gave me strong coffee or Mountain Dew. You could also use one of the bead eye masks scented with lavender, mint, or eucalyptus that has been chilled in the refrigerator.

when we got back to Missouri, all hell broke loose. The entire family got the Flu immediately upon returning, and it was no 24 hour bug, it took a week for us to all be healthy again, except I kept having diarrhea FOR A MONTH! I finally went in to the Dr. (it has been all but impossible to see a Dr. since Christmas, here on post). Only to find out that I had a parasite (GROSS!). Giardia, specifically, and the CDC and Public Health Department are on my case trying to figure out where the contaminated water I consumed came from, I don't blame them. And around the time of this mess, it was decided that my daughter needed to have her tonsils removed. We then found out that my brother in law has been diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrigs), and has been given 5-10 years to live. There is no cure, he IS going to die, they can only postpone it a couple years. He is 31 years old and has 2 sons 10 and 2, and quite frankly, none of us think this particular sister is capable of taking care of herself, let alone 2 children, and a dying husband. Also, my husbands step father has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, he is 75 years old, and that reduces some of the treatments they can try. My daughter had her tonsils out, and that went surprisingly well. I fell down the stairs earlier this week, and hurt my back, which is making it difficult to take care of a healing 3 year old and a 1 year old, I can't pick them up! And all they want to do is snuggle, but it hurts so bad I want to cry! And to top it off, my husbands at the ER with my 3 year old because she was jumping off the steps, playing with her friend last night, and I'm pretty sure she broke her toe. So, that leaves me... carrying her? Which I can't even do right now! I've had enough of bad news, and accidents, and HOSPITALS! I realize there are families going through worse medical issues, so this is not a "pissing contest", but a rant of a woman at wits end!

... in the last 2 weeks and the winter seems unending, etc., but I will shut my mouth.
I am SO sorry about your b-i-l. ALS is such a cruel disease, and he is so young. My good friend's father died of it when he as a young kid in rural Japan.
I hope you get some respite from the stress and strain, heartbreak and toe breaks, the giardia, etc.

... Daughter and me sore throats and my Son has RSV :( - Anyways Again Sorry- But Healing Wishes to us all!

...younger they are, the quicker they heal, but I had my tonsils removed when I was 25, and it was the worst pain I had ever felt (only having a 10.4 oz baby with no drugs was worse, but only because of the intensity, it was over much quicker). I ended up having to go to the hospital a week later because I was severely dehydrated, because I couldn't keep ANYTHING down, not even water. It took about 2 months for me to start to feel back to normal. I'm freaking out! Am I putting my child through what I went through? The only reason I'm doing it is because the Dr. said that young children do better, and suggested having it done now, so she doesn't have the same problems I did, and have to do it as an adult. Anybody have this surgery done to their children?

the codeine burns going down the throat (not too bright), so we switched to a suppository and he was fine...once the pain was under control he was able to drink with no problem.

...quick trip to the ENT confirmed that it had stopped quickly, and he didn't require a second hospitalization, thankfully. I really do think they heal more quickly at this age than as an adult, and he has no memory of the pain associated with the procedure (only that he had it done). Here's a tip: we couldn't believe how quickly he rebounded after surgery, but he crashed and burned on day three, just as the doctor had warned us. He was back to his normally cheerful self a few days later, though - just know that they usually take a downturn for a few days. Oh - and he never once wanted a popsicle, which we had stockpiled ahead of time (funny kid!). Take care.

...and she is better now She is also sleeping much better than she was, and hasn't had an ear infection since- she had them chronically before. I hope your little lady feels better soon! (and you too! watching our kids hurt is so sad!)

...min, she took FOREVER to wake up for good, she was able to be roused to answer questions, take medications, but wanted nothing to drink or eat, so she stayed at the hospital until about 7pm, when I was finally able to get her to eat some popcicle. She vomited quite a bit, but they let her go home (we live 2 min from the hospital literally) I had her sleep in my bed that night with me, so that i was able to get some rest too, she woke up at 11pm and needed medicine, and I got her to eat a bit of pudding, and she kept it down, at 5 am the next morning she got up perky as ever, said she was hungry and headed downstairs, and she ate and ate all day long! And played like normal. Today she's playing, but she's quiet, and really hasn't been eating much today. I think that her throat just hurts, because I didn't wake her up for medicine last night. But overall, she's doing alot better than I had expected. Thanks for your support.

... we're still awaiting test results -etc. I was thinking we might take the trip to see him(it would be about a 4 hr drive.)But my Hubby doesn't want to go until he's out but depending on how serious it is -I'm not sure. Since I'm just becoming aware of his fear it also brings up -If I was in the hospital would he see me? -He says he would visit but wouldn't stay too long.-He was there for the birth of our child so?- Just wondering any thoughts on this?

problem when his mother had cancer and spent the last several months of her life in a hospital, and every time we'd go to see her, there Dad would go, passing out and causing a scene. ;-) (Well, it's funny now, but it wasn't very funny then...)
We never did figure out a great solution, except that once he was aware of it, we'd make sure to have water around, and get him OUT of there as soon as possible. Plus, he'd do breathing and relaxation exercises...
As for what he would do if YOU were in the hospital...right now, I'd just leave that question be and not borrow extra trouble! He'd do what he has to do; he just wouldn't like it!

...now.He has already had 2 major surgeries and almost lost his life. I dont want to put him under again if I dont have to. At 10 or 11 they use a local.

...it different when they are a little older? I'm not sure that I would wait until he was 10 or 11, because he is definitely going to remember the pain from it, where if you did it now, he wouldn't really remember.
- Feb 25 2008, 08:27 PM
...I really don't know about the procedure in toddlers, but I know it is more traumatic for an older child, so maybe you should really discuss the risks with a specialist.
- Feb 25 2008, 08:47 PM
...snip and be done with it. Are you sure he has to be put under? Get another opinion on that. I never heard of a rabbi bringing an anesthesiologist to a briss.

... unable to control the other end as well. Luckily the worst of it was on Saturday and Sunday, but on Monday I could barely move, I was so exhausted and sore. I picked up the upstairs phone and called my husbands cell phone downstairs. When he picked up, I told him (since I'm a SAHM) that I was calling in sick. It didn't work! Ha! Ha! Luckily my littlest one is just over a year, and I'm not still nursing. Your husband will have to be in charge when he's home, and you'll have to resist the urge to do anything beyond taking some strong medicine and going straight to bed. If he wears out the baby with some serious playtime, maybe you'll get some more time to rest in the evenings. Get Well Soon!
- Mar 27 2008, 12:18 PM
