yes i took the kids to the doc today and got the vaccine. They actually got both. They cried and complained for a min with their arm but then just stopped and now they are fine. I agree with you though. You know that when your baby is born that they are protected and so is your other son. Its good to have someone on the same page as me.

Just to add to this, even though you have made up your mind!!! My 7 year old had the H1N1 last week. He actually had more "side effects" from the regular flu shot than the H1N1. With the regular flu shot, he complained that his arm was sore and the lymph nodes under his arm swelled up for a day. With the H1N1 he was fine, and has been fine since getting it.

I just got my H1N1 shot today. I was nervous, but my mind was eased with the amount of pregnant women at the health clinic. I just watched the world news tonight and they released study results that showed that the H1N1 shot is well tolerated with pregnant woman and that after 21 days on average pregnant women were 92% immune from the disease. That made me feel much better about my decision. Now I know that not only is my 7 year old protected, but so is my unborn child.

Just be aware that the studies they released today also showed that children need to receive 2 rounds of the shot for full immunity. My 7 year old is going to love me when he goes to his next dr. appointment in a couple weeks!!! Lol!

Our appointments are for next Tuesday. The way I see it healthy people are dying from the flu,but noone has died from the vaccine. Its just a new strain of vaccine, but the same recipe as the regular flu vaccine(kinda like making a chocolate vs vanilla cake).Just like any vaccine/medication some people are going to have adverse affects but thats not the norm.I'm gonna get it for me & my kids.I couldn't live with myself if something happened to one of my children because I opted out on the vaccine after listening to all the conspiracy theories. If the government wanted to hurt us they'd let us die from the flu,not make a vaccine to hurt us all.I think we're lucky to live in a world that can make a vaccine & get it out quickly to save us from a pandemic.Look through history at how many people have died from viruses,i bet they wish a vaccine would have been available back then.Children & pregnant women are the highest group that are dying, theres probably a higher chance that we won't get infected but I don't want to take any chance.Ask your Dr. whats best for you,if you can't trust your Dr. with the health of your children who can ya trust..Thats my oppinion  :)

We've been chit chatting over at the Let's Talk board about this. I myself am against getting the vaccine for my child. If I was pregnant I'm not sure what I would do. See what others had to say: New Survey Shows 1/3 of Parents Not Getting Kids Flu Vaccine
