... chickenpox last yr) anyways she is having a Hannah Montana birthday themed party.
The problem is that its going to be a boy girl party (she has more male friends then female friends) we wanted to do the make your own lip gloss thing and some other girly thing for the girls, but what kind of crafts would be more appropriate for are little male party goers? We are also doing party outside with the sprinkler and some water games.
Please help party is a month away and I need to start preparing soon.

... always good. Limbo is good. Freeze Dance is good. Pin the (something) on somehting FUNNY (not a donkey) is always a hit! We just went to a dinosaur party for a 5 year old and you had to pin the horn on the triceratops. The kids loved it cause they all put the horn in the wrong place. If you want to do a craft - i'd go with something simple like paint/draw/glue on a picture frame, treasure box, flag (we did this at my kid's 6th). You can get great, cheap supplies at orientaltrading.com. They have tons of fantastic EASY, CHEAP crafts there. Good luck!

performances. The audience could vote on the best act, and the winners get a prize pack of something fun. You could also give prizes for best air guitar, best dance moves, etc. The smaller kids could be backup dancers. Maybe you could do a blow up poster of Hannah Montana standing next to someone ... cut out the face of that other someone and take Polaroid pictures of the kids sticking their faces through the cut out.

one where you get minatures of all the popular candy bars, melt them down individually and spoon them into individual clean newborn baby diapers. Number them, and then the guests have to guess what kind of candy bar it is, by whatever means necessary ... smelling it, touching it, tasting it. Whoever gets the most right, wins the game.

... themselves. You make one or two words taboo to say (like baby, pregnant, boy, or girl). If anyone overhears someone else say the taboo word, they get ALL of their pins (especially frustrating to those who have amassed a collection throughout the game). People try to bait other people into saying the word(s) without realizing it, but it gets people who don't normally talk at a party to talk to others and laugh. This could be the running game throughout the party, and then at the end of the shower whoever has the most pins wins.

... are numbered and placed on a board. Everyone has to guess which baby picture belongs to which adult at the shower. The person who guesses the most right wins. This is pretty fun and a little different from most baby shower games.

...Once, I had a moroccan themed party and we ate moroccan food and sat on the floor and I decorated with lanterns and bright reds and purples. So, think of things that you like to do or places you like to go and use that as a jumping point.

... winter. We kicked up the heat, wore our summer clothes and enjoyed beach food and margaritas. The kids had lemonade and played with moon sand and bubbles. It was a great time for all. For decorations, we used a sand colored paint drop cloth for the floor and I found a beach scene shower curtain that I hung over the fireplace. We added cheap sand buckets and flip-flops for decorations and used the little umbrellas in the drinks. It's a cheap, easy way to include families in your party plans.

... We have a lot of family coming and alot of 5-7 year old friends. We had planned on keeping the kids outside but it looks like everyone might be crammed inside. Does anyone have any suggestions of what to entertain the kids with inside last minute if we do get rained out?

... colorful paint in birthday colors, or you can tye dye them and then hang them around the perimeter of the garage from the ceiling to conceal anything that you've got stacked or stored. Turn it into an old fashioned garage dance party with music and maybe a disco ball if you can find one locally for rent. You can also get a really cheap piece of vinyl flooring/linoleum to cover up the garage floor as well.

to a hardware store and just picked up random stuff, like tubes and other plumbing supplies...
We emptied out the dining room for the day (whoever uses a dining room anyway?), set out the boxes, some markers, and the tubes and stuff and told the kids to make rocket ships.
They played for hours and had a blast.

or you can make decorated flip flops - buy some cheap pairs at the dollar store - here's a link so you can see what they'll look like (you can use cute fabric!) http://www.etsy.com/view_... - you just cut up ribbon or fabric into tons of 7" - 8" strips and then tie them right onto the thong part of the flip flops (so cute!) you can make awesome hair ties the same way - just take a ponytail holder and tie ribbon or fabric all around it - it's very punk rock! or you can just wrap ribbon around your flip flops and add some jewels. have fun!

... party, and less than half of those that came to the 1st, came to the 2nd since at that point it's still mostly adults. If I had to do it over again, I probably wouldn't have taken the time to plan a party. If you want to still celebrate the day, you can choose a restaurant that you know your child would enjoy (Chuck E Cheeses), and just invite the grandparents to come. Just like you might do for your own birthday, where the birthday girl/boy chooses where they want to eat, and just those closest to you join you for dinner and a little cake.
