| 1 | Bring the milk, water, salt and butter (if using) to a boil in a large saucepan.

| 2 | Add the rice and reduce the heat to medium-low.

| 3 | Cover the saucepan and simmer for 2025 minutes, stirring occasionally.

| 4 | Once the rice is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed, remove the lid.
|
| 5 | Cook and stir the cereal for an additional 12 minutes until cereal is at desired consistency.

| 6 | Let cool for 5 minutes.
|
| 7 | Top with cinnamon and sugar.
