Tilapia Mango Tacos

Got a hankering for Taco Bell but worried about giving the little one (and you!) heartburn? These tacos are healthy and tasty, and quick to make, too!


  • 1 pound tilapia fish fillets, cut into 2-inch strips
  • ½ cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons season salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Corn tortillas
  • Mango Salsa:
  • 1 small mango, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons red onion
  • ½ fresh jalapeño, deseeded and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of 1 fresh lime
  • Toppings:
  • Red cabbage
  • Avocado slices

1 In shallow dish, mix flour and salt.

2 Dip tilapia filets in flour mixture, coating all sides.

3 Heat oil in skillet over medium-high heat and add fish.

4 Cook fish about 3 minutes on each side or until outside is lightly brown and fish is flaky.

5 Heat up corn tortillas in microwave for 20 seconds.

6 Fill each tortilla with 2–3 strips of tilapia and mango salsa.

  • If you can't take the heat, leave the jalapeños out of the salsa. For pepper-lovers, throw in the whole jalapeño, seeds and all.
