Privacy Policy

Introduction
The Nickelodeon Kids and Family - Parents and Preschool Network is a group of Nickelodeon Kids and Family websites dedicated to parents and preschool age children, including NickJr.com and Nickelodeon ParentsConnect, (collectively the "Network"). We are committed to providing quality online activities for parents and preschoolers, while promoting the online safety and privacy of all of our users. The privacy of all of our visitors is very important to us. This Privacy Policy has been created to inform you about what information we collect from users, how it is used and stored, circumstances under which we may disclose that information, and your choices concerning that information.

Target Audience:
The Network is targeted at parents, with children of all ages, with NickJr.com focusing on parents of preschoolers. The design, content, and language of the Network, as well as the activities and other materials found on the Network, are designed for parents. However, we do provide the Kids area of NickJr.com specifically so that parents and their preschoolers can explore learning and activities together. Because we target parents on the Network, we request personally identifiable information from users who choose to participate in the community features and certain other activities available on the Network, described in more detail below. We would never knowingly collect personally identifiable information from a child on the Network, and have taken measures to prevent any such collection. If we were to discover that a child submitted personally identifiable information to us, we would delete the information immediately. We urge kids to check with their parents before entering information on any website and we urge parents to discuss with their kids restrictions regarding the online release of personal information to anyone they don't know.

Information Collected:
Personal Information: To become a registered user of our community, you need to select a unique user name and password, as well as a unique profile URL, and we need to collect some personally identifiable information including your email address, date of birth, state of residence (where applicable) and ZIP code. Additional optional personally identifiable information we may collect from time to time may include your telephone number, postal address, credit card number, and information about your interests in and use of various products, programs, and services. If you choose to send us user-generated video, images, or other content, we may need to collect additional personal information in connection with that process, but any such submission would be strictly optional.

Computer Information: We also may collect certain non-personally identifiable information when you visit the Network such as the type of browser you are using (e.g., Firefox, Internet Explorer), the type of operating system you are using (e.g., Windows or Mac OS), and the domain name of your Internet service provider (e.g., America Online, Earthlink).

Flux: The registration and community features on the Network operate using the Flux Platform ("Flux"). Use of information collected on these community features is governed both by our Privacy Policy and the Flux Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. Flux is used on a number of social-networking web sites that we refer to as the "Community Sites". The Community Sites allow Flux-registered users ("Members") to create personalized Member profiles that display their own content, comment on and share information and make friends—all within a Community Site, or across multiple Community Sites that you may choose to join.

When you join the Network, you are registering simultaneously with the Network and with Flux, and your e-mail address and password automatically give you access to any other Community Site(s) you choose to join. Because Flux and your Community Site(s) jointly receive your registration information, anytime you update your registration information or your Member profile, the updated information is received by Flux and your Community Site(s). Other information relating to your use of the Community Site(s), such as information relating to postings you make or communities you join, also may be shared with the Community Site(s) at which you have chosen to join. If you are logged in on one Community Site and travel to another Community Site, Flux can recognize you so you do not need to login again. However, we recommend that you remember to log off of a Community Site if you leave your computer unattended where another person can use or access it. If you are already a Flux Member, once you agree to join another Community Site, that Community Site will have access to the registration information you previously provided and that Community Site may ask you for additional information. For more important information about how your information may be collected, displayed, shared or otherwise used on Flux and Community Sites, please refer to the Flux Privacy Policy.

How We Use Information:
General: All personal information is collected for the purpose of providing our users access to the community features and other activities provided on the Network. Once registered, users can participate in registered member activities such as newsletters, message boards, certain contests and sweepstakes (for sweepstakes that are open to non-registered users, please see "General Activities: Contests and Online Sweepstakes" section below) and "Third Party" offers (the opportunity for registered members to receive information concerning special offers and promotions either sent by us on behalf of or in partnership with other third party businesses selected by us, or directly by such third parties). We may also use the personally identifiable information you provide about yourself to respond to your inquiries about our offerings, fulfill your requests for our products, programs, and services, and to offer you special offers and promotions from businesses within the Nickelodeon and Viacom International Inc, and on behalf of selected third parties offering products, programs or services that we believe may be of interest to you.

We also use this information to communicate with you, such as to notify you when you have won one of our sweepstakes or contests, to fulfill your request for an online newsletter, or to contact you about your account.

We use the non-personally identifiable information that we collect to improve the design and content of our site and to enable us to personalize your Internet experience.

We may combine information we collect through the Network with information that we collect from other sources (e.g., social media integration services (e.g. Facebook Connect), offline records or publicly available information) to further tailor our products, programs and services.

At any time after the registration process, registered members can choose to discontinue participating in some of the registered member activities (e.g. newsletters, NickJr.com advisory board, "Third Party" offers) or altogether unregister by electing to unsubscribe to such activity. Every newsletter you receive from us will have the option to unsubscribe at the bottom of the newsletter, and (if they are registered users) recipients may also unsubscribe at any time via their account settings, which may be found here on your Manage Subscriptions Page. Receiving marketing communications is voluntary. If at any time you wish to change your marketing preferences or opt out entirely from receiving further marketing information from us, you can log into your account, follow the unsubscribe instructions in our e-mail communications, or contact us.

More Information Regarding Certain Activities:

Online Contests and Sweepstakes
The Network may offer opportunities to enter contests and sweepstakes from time to time. In other instances, we may ask for information such as your full name, e-mail address, birth date, and in some instances, telephone numbers for certain types of contests and sweepstakes. We use this information for the purpose of conducting the contests and sweepstakes and do not (except as set forth herein) disclose such information to third parties, except with a fulfillment house which we use to help select winners and fulfill prizes and, in some cases, with third-party sponsors. From time to time, we may offer contests and sweepstakes sponsored by third party businesses and may share entrant information with such third party businesses. In these types of contests and sweepstakes, we will disclose to potential entrants that such information will be so supplied and the identity of the third party to whom such information will be supplied at the time entrant information is collected, and will provide potential entrants with the opportunity to opt out of such third party sponsored contests and sweepstakes. However, any information supplied to a third party may be retained by such third party and will be out of our control. We may maintain personal information collected online from contests and sweepstakes winners and may share that information with third parties for fulfillment purposes, as described above, as well as internally.

Entrants of contests and sweepstakes on the Network may have the opportunity to opt-in (by indicating so on the entry form) to become subscribers of Network newsletters and to receive other e-mail special announcements and promotions. (For more information, please see "Electronic Newsletter and Special Announcements Subscription" below.) The personal information collected from those entrants who have chosen to opt-in to any newsletter or other subscription shall be maintained by the Network and may be shared with third parties for fulfillment purposes, as described above, as well as internally. Entrant's decision not to opt-in to any subscription offers will not affect eligibility for contests and sweepstakes and will not impact chances of winning.

Electronic Newsletter and Special Announcements Subscription
The Network provides parents the opportunity to receive e-mails containing certain newsletters, along with other special announcements pertaining to ParentsConnect, NickJr.com and/or Nickelodeon, as well as Viacom International Inc generally. These emails and newsletters will be made available to users during the registration process, but users may also register for specific newsletters or email bulletins without registering. These e-mails will provide subscribers with Nickelodeon information updates, announcements, and promotions. If you opt in to receive any such newsletters or announcements, your e-mail address may be transferred, disclosed, or shared with third parties who may be engaged by us specifically to handle the preparation and delivery of the e-mails and perform other related technical and processing functions. At anytime after the signup process, users can choose to discontinue their subscriptions to all newsletters and special announcements altogether by electing to unsubscribe, through the unsubscribe option found at the bottom of each e-mail sent to users, or via your account settings page, which will also be linked at the bottom of newsletters, and is located here.

Electronic Postcards & Games
The Network may provide users with the opportunity to send electronic postcards to family or friends. Also, the Network may feature information about products we believe are of interest and enable users to send email messages to family and/or friends to share their interests. In these instances, we may collect email addresses of the senders and recipients of such postcards and messages. We also may collect email addresses where users send e-mail to us (e.g., through a contact link or when requesting information about our products, services or offerings). The Network uses this information only for the purpose of sending the postcards and such information is deleted from our system.

User Generated Content
The Network may offer opportunities to send video, images and other user generated content from time to time, sometimes in connection with a contest or sweepstakes, and sometimes as part of every day Network activity. In some instances, we may ask for additional information as part of the upload process, such as your full name, e-mail address, birth date, the names and ages of your children, descriptions and other information concerning the content uploaded to us. We use this information for the purpose of conducting the UGV/UGC activities, and do not (except as set forth herein). From time to time, we may offer UGV/UGC activities sponsored by third party businesses, and may (with your permission) share your content and personal information with such third party businesses. In these types of activities, we will disclose to users that such information will be so supplied and the identity of the third party to whom such information will be supplied at the time the UGV/UGC is uploaded to us, and will provide users with the opportunity to opt out of such third party sponsored activities. However, any information supplied to a third party may be retained by such third party and will be out of our control.
