Childhood Illnesses Kids Bring Home From School

Sometimes the kids bring home stuff from school that's a whole lot grosser than homework!

Lice (Pediculosis)
Lice infestation (pediculosis) occurs when lice—tiny bloodsucking insects—make their home in your kid's hair (the nerve!). Lice are highly contagious, so don't worry that the PTA moms are trashing you and your housekeeping skills. (They'd never tell, but they've probably dealt with it, too!) You can treat your child's hair with either an insecticide or with nontoxic, enzyme-based products. Either way, you'll have to painstakingly comb through your kid's hair to get 'em all out.
