Communicating With Your Kids
Our kids are our proudest achievements, so wear that pride well! Respect begets respect. Sixty-five percent of our communication is nonverbal (an arched eyebrow, hands on hips, etc.) so keep your reactions in check. If your kid messes up, wait before flying off the handle. They learn by watching you. And maybe in that time, you realize he acted out for different reasons altogether. So read between the lines. Praise their accomplishments. Accept them as they are. (After all, that's what we're after, too!)
