Photography Tips: Baby's First Birthday Pictures
About a year ago, you were the paparazzi of the household (baby! over here! gimme silly! gimme impish grin!). These days, however, you're more the sometime photo snapper than the everyday chronicler.
This is however your kid's first birthday, so go find that digital camera battery charger (or roll of film, for those of you photo purists), and make sure you get some special shots of your pumpkin as he reaches this milestone.
You can also have a professional photographer visit your home or schedule time at a portrait studio (this way you don't have to do all that red-eye removal).

Dress your baby in something he likes, not just something you like, or he'll spend the whole time wriggling and trying to take it off.
Choose the time of day when your baby is most relaxed and happy: not right before nap time or lunchtime. If they're too hyper, that won't work either.
If you choose a pro, make sure they have some experience with babies. A photographer who has only done still life photos clearly isn't the right person for this job!
