Books for Baby

Believe it or not, it's never too early to start reading to your baby. It's the perfect activity for cuddling and bonding, not to mention the fact that, at this point, you can still read US Weekly to your baby and he'll appreciate it just as much as "Good Night Moon."

Still, the cadence that is built in to most baby books can be particularly pleasing to your budding literati. So it's worth considering a few selections beyond Us Weekly.

Looking for new titles for the nursery library? Here are two lists of 'em to keep storytime fun for both of you:

11 Great Books for Babies
We asked a librarian friend to share some of the best books for babies with you. What can we say? She's good! From "Pat the Bunny"-type classics to quirky tales that didn't make the best-seller list but totally should have, she's got some cream-of-the-crop picks for you and your kid.

A Dozen Children's Books We Love
Next, we asked some of our "We're not perfect, we're parents" parents to tell us some of their favorite books to read to their kids. And true-to-form, they offered up an awesome list of "We're not perfect, we're parents"-type books. We think you'll love them, too.

Already have a growing collection of baby books? Consider buying a simple library-style display case or a small bookshelf to keep books organized and accessible.
