Turn your kids' stinky feet into snazzy gift wrap with paint, paper and as much mess as you can tolerate. For once you can tell them that stepping in paint and tracking it all over the place is a good thing!
  • Stamps:
    i.e., your kid's feet
  • Paper plates:
Big enough to be foot-size ink pads
  • Large sheets of paper:
Butcher paper, easel paper, white paper on a roll or a brown bag that you cut up
  • Acrylic paint:
Any and every color you can find
  • Large bucket filled with clean water
  • Baby wipes or wet paper towels:
    Lots of them (trust us)
  • Two large rocks:
Or bricks or big cans of sauce or anything else heavy that you can use to hold the paper down
  • Newspaper:
To protect your driveway (unless you want paint footprints all over your walk)
  • Glitter (optional)
  • 1
Lay newspaper in a long strip on the driveway (or in the garage, if it's cold outside).
  • 2
Unroll your blank paper on top of the newspaper. Use rocks or bricks to hold down the two ends.
  • 3
Squirt a generous amount of paint onto several paper plates—one color per plate.
  • 4
Roll up your kids' pants and take off their shoes.
  • 5
Start stamping! Have your kids step carefully into the paper plates and then let them run, walk, dance and tip-toe along the paper, leaving their festive tracks wherever they go. Put on some music to get them moving!
  • 6
If you (or they) are anal, have them clean their feet in the big bucket of water before stepping in a second color.
  • 7
To add a little festive sparkle, sprinkle the paper with glitter while the paint is still wet. Then, let it all dry.
  • 8
Lather, rinse and repeat the process—'cause you know you have about 20 rolls' worth of wrapping to do!
