Picnic Activity

At your next picnic, try watching planes instead of ants. Take your kids to a municipal airport for lunch (find one near you at AirNav. Most of them have picnic benches, and some broadcast the control tower's chatter via loudspeaker. Kids love to watch take-offs and landings (helicopters are the highlight). Just be prepared to cover your kids' ears whenever a plane lands, so they can save their hearing for, uhm ... rock concerts when they're 17.
