Create a Family Music Songbook!

All of the sudden your child asks you to sing for him and it's like answering why the sky is blue—your mouth opens but nothing's coming out. (It happens to the best of us!)

Or maybe you have the same problem that plagues most moms and dads where you're trying to remember so much that you forget everything that's not written down? Well, how about making a personalized songbook that houses all of your family's favorite music in one place? It's like a parenting cheat sheet that's fun for everyone!

Instead of a boring old grocery-list-type-list, let's make it cool! Get out your art supplies and create a family songbook that will get you singing in perfect harmony!

• Create a list of family favorites. Let everyone contribute a few songs to add to the book.
• Print out the lyrics online and using construction paper, a hole puncher, some ribbon and markers, have everyone design their own book. Place the sheet music between two pieces of construction paper and punch three holes down one side. Run ribbon thru each hole and tie it in a bow to create a book. Decorate until you're creativity is all tapped out.
• Host a family hootenanny and follow along with your beautiful new book!
