Music for Babies

Whether you're someone who turns the radio on the moment she gets in the car or someone who hasn't cared about music since Justin left the Backstreet Boys for his solo career, it's worth exposing your baby to music at an early age.

Luckily, there are lots of ways to do just that, even if you aren't glued to American Idol three nights a week.

Here are a few:

"Mommy & Me" or Daddy & Me" type music groups can be a lot of fun for both you and baby and a great way to socialize with other adults while learning about rhythm and music. Not to mention that it's a scheduled activity that gets you out of the house and on your way.

Ask around about good music programs and classes in your area or visit ParentsConnect Local to find out about musical activities in your hometown, including concerts for kids.

Whether you choose one of the more popular formats like Kindermusik, Musikgartenand Music Together, or opt for another type of class, no choice is a bad choice.

Your baby will enjoy the stimulation, you'll learn some new songs. And don't be surprised if your kid develops a fondness for drums, maracas and tambourines!
