Store-bought nectar is expensive and contains unnecessary artificial colors. Make your own at a fraction of the cost with this springtime outdoor activity!
- Hummingbird feeder
- White granulated sugar
- Water
- Measuring cup
- Small pitcher
In the pitcher, mix 4 parts water to 1 part sugar until sugar is completely dissolved.
Pour mixture into hummingbird feeder.
Hang outside and attract one of nature's beautiful creatures!
- Contrary to popular belief, red dyes are absolutely not necessary to attract hummingbirds to your feeder. They are attracted to the colors of the feeder itself, and artificial coloring could possibly be harmful to the wee little birdies.
