2nd Carseat
My DD is 4 months old but already 25 1/4 inches long and weighs 17 pounds. Her carseat only goes up to 30 inches and 30 pounds. So my question is when do I switch to a new carseat? When she's 30 inches or 30 pounds because I doubt it'll be at the same time. Also, what carseat did you use after your baby outgrew the infant carrier? She is really strong and sit up by herself already so I was thinking a convertible carseat, but not sure which one to get. Any advice on that also? Thanks!

Depending on your budget, you can look into a convertible car seat. They can "grow" with your child and go up to 50/60 pounds depending on the model (look at Amazon or Walmart)
If you're looking for a great next car seat, in fact the safest of this year check out this article!!!

My doctor told me to switch car seats at 2-years-old and she was very tall for her age (in the 100th percentile).
She is really strong and sit up by herself already so I was thinking a convertible carseat.
Most babies outgrow car seats by height first before weight, but when she comes close to either of those limits (like hits 29-29.5" or 29 lbs) I would go ahead and switch her. You probably have another 4-5 months. We used First Years TrueFit car seats and are still using them (my boys will be 4 in January). Great seats! They are also good for extended rear-facing (you may have heard this but it's recommended to keep your baby rear-facing until at least age 2) because they have one of the tallest shells on the market.
