Jayden's Birth Story
Submitted by JaydensMommy0812
Well, I was due August 6, 2009. I had a doctor's appointment a few days before. When I went in, she said that she was going to schedule me to be induced on the 13th at 5 am. if I didn't go into labor before then. I was really hoping that didn't have to happen.
The days would come, and then go, so I started to just realize that I was going to have to be induced. Well, on August 12th at about 5 in the morning, I woke up to really bad cramps. They were so bad I couldn't sleep, so I started timing them. They came about every 5 minutes or so for about an hour. My husband woke up at about 6 and I told him we probably had to go to the hospital. I was hoping I was actually in labor because I had made 2 trips already, with no such luck.
We got checked in and got a room at about 7:30. By this time I was just wanting to go to sleep. They checked to see if I was dilated and I was only at about a 2. They said that I'll stay for an hour and if nothing changed they were sending me home. Well about an hour and a half later they checked me, but couldn't tell how dilated I was because I was still so high. They said they were going to call my doctor since I was scheduled to be induced the next day to see what she wanted to do.
Well I was having contractions that were getting closer together, and a little bit stronger when my doctor came in at about 1 pm. She checked me and I was dilated to a 6. She went to lunch and came back to break my water.
Then things got bad! LOL
I was in so much pain. They finally transferred me to a delivery room, and I could barely walk. I finally asked for IV meds. Then things were a little bit better...and I would sleep off and on, until the contraction came. When I finally dilated to a 10, I started pushing, and would sleep in between contractions. I pushed for 2 hours, but she kept going back in after every contraction was over. I was surprised they let me push for so long because my baby had the mecconium.
My doctor finally checked to see what was going on, and my daughter was face up, and kept getting stuck on my pelvic bone, so they finally decided to do an emergency c-section. They had to put me completely out because I couldn't sit still through the contraction to do an epidural...not to mention I was freaked out about a needle going into my back.
I don't remember having her, or seeing her until about 9:30. I wish now that I would have had the epidural so that I could hear my daughter cry when she came out...but next time I will :)
She weighed 8 pounds 5 ounces, and was 18 and half inches long.
