Nathan Conner Parks' Birth Story
Submitted by NateTheGreatsMom
I had a great pregnancy! No problems(besides the morning sickness and 1 week of bed rest toward the end). My due date was Feb. 27th, but I was scheduled to be induced on the 23rd. when I was 36 weeks, I was dilated 1 1/2 centimeters and effaced over 50%, so I was put on bed rest for a wk because my feet and hands were swelling. At 37 weeks, there was no change except I was 75% effaced, but my doctor took me off bed rest and told me to take it easy.
On Friday, Feb. 13th, I felt sick all day and around 5 p.m I stood up and felt something "pop". I was . A few hours passed and I could hardly walk, so I called labor and delivery and they said to come up there and they would check to see what was going on.
I got there around 10 p.m.and the nurse checked me and I was dilated 2 cm. Two hours later I was dilated 3, so she said my labor was progressing and until I was at 4 they couldn't admit me. They gave me shot of demorol.
I was admitted around 2 a.m. I got another shot of demerol for pain. Needless to say, I was very loopy and wasn't feeling ANYTHING. My contractions were going off the charts and I didn't feel any of them. I was stuck at 4 cm, so they came to break my water; then I got an epidural. After that I went from 5 to 10 cms pretty quick.
I pushed 3 times and at 11:44 a.m. on Saturday Feb.14th 2009, I gave birth to a 6lb 9oz 19 1/2 in baby boy. His name is Nathan Conner Parks. He decided to come 2wks early on Valentine's Day.
