Iliana's Birth Story

Submitted by boobawoo
My baby girl is definitely a miracle! I was told i wouldn't be able to ever have children. I swallowed a screw as baby which led to many surgeries, risking the chances. (I had 17 surgeries on my stomach, a tracheotomy and couple others.)

Even though I'm young—only 19—I believe God put her in my life for a special reason! She is a true blessing.

When I found out I was pregnant I freaked. I was so scared because I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know if I would be able to carry the baby or if I would have pain through out the pregnancy.

Well, thank god it all went 110% well. I was so active during my pregnancy; I was moving furniture and cleaning! lol My fiance would get upset with me and make me rest.

The day before delivery, I got curious and pulled out my breast pump and started pumping. I had heard that pumping can bring on contractions! Well, it worked; later that night I went into labor!!!

Iliana was born the next afternoon. What a beautiful experience! I wish I could rewind time and relive it! Even with all the pain and all, its just amazing to see a part of you being born. It's shocking my fiance witnessed it all. He had to hold both my legs while working around the nurse. I had an epidural, which eased the pain and the labor was fast! She was a big girl for how small i am (only 4'11 and slim) and she was 7lb 7oz. The nurses were shocked to see my little self deliver her!

She is now 5 1/2 months and as intelligent as can be! I love being a mami!!!

Lastly to all pregnant moms-to-be: Don't be scared because i expected the worst and nothing came out of it. Have confidence and believe in yourself everything will go well and stay prayerful!
