Birth Stories: The Adventure of Giving Birth to my Baby Boy

My due date was November 16, 2007 and my pregnancy was a glorious one. I didn’t get morning sickness, back pain or anything. But everything changes when on November 14, 2007 about 7 o’clock at night, I started to have contractions. At the beginning it was bearable, we went to the hospital (it was about an hour from home) when my contractions were a minute apart and lasted for a minute. We arrive at the hospital, when they check I was just 2 inches dilated and they sent me home. The contractions intensified I couldn’t eat or sleep, my parents and my husband either and went to the hospital the next day (November 15). They check and again I was only 2 inches, but the contractions were unbearable, they sent me home again. Once home nobody could sleep and the contractions still intensify. The next day (November 16) I was starting to feel the need to push on top of the contractions. My husband and my mother couldn’t wait and we end up going to another hospital. On our way to that hospital I couldn’t wait and started to push. My husband was desperate and scared and he stop abruptly too close to an exit a police car stop behind us and when my husband open the window, the officer was going to ask for the license and registration, my first scream!!!!! The officer got really scared and called the EMS and I end up going to the hospital in an ambulance. Once there they check me and I was 10 inches there wasn’t time for epidural. It was crazy they put me in a room and in less than an hour after three pushes my baby boy was born 7inches, 7 ounces and 21 pounds. Also for the first time my dad got to see a birth happening. Because although I have a brother and a sister he never saw us been born and he got to see his first grandson been born. I asked him what he thought about the whole experience he said “it was a miracle adventure, like the hand of God in action”. He thanks me for giving him that opportunity.
