Chase's Birth Story

Where to begin :) Me and my husband (Kevin) Went to the doctor every week, I was high risk due to a miscarriage I had previously. At 32 weeks we go in as normal. I tell her that I am wanting to go to my baby shower 8 1/2 hours away in NC. She agrees as long as we were back before 34 weeks.. Our return date was set for the 23rd of feb so I would only be 34 weeks and 3 days so I just "didnt" say anything.:) Our drive down was not the most comfy We had to bring our great dane who weighs about 110lbs and thinks that she is a lap dog. I couldnt sit up front because my "little" brother (who lived with us) is 6'4 so needless to say he "had" to sit in the front. We get to NC, my baby shower was held 2 days after we got there, everything is going great everyone is so excited because Chase is the first grand child and first great grand child (on my side) Well at my baby shower I started feeling "weird" nothing hurt, I just had this overwelming feeling that I need to go home and I WAS WAY PAST done with being pregnant, (I am 5'1 and 100 lbs). I made a JOKE that if someone would just give me a knife and a clean room I would take Chase out myself... About 5 mintues after this "joke" I went into the bath room and "peeed" what now I know what my mucus plug. I didnt freak out or say anything because my doctor had told me just 2 little weeks ago that it was normal for my to lose it up to two weeks before I went into labor.Well everyone kept saying how "low" I looked and that Chase had "droped". Well the baby shower went wonderful! We had so much stuff it was unreal. We made our way back to my Mother in laws house and started packing the car.. We had so much stuff that I had to take everything out of the boxes or take out of bags and out of the packageing. That night me and the Hubby "did our taxes" and within 5 mintues afterwards I felt like crud. Everthing hurt. We got up super early the next morning and left without telling anyone good bye (my hubby was a little scared). So here we are My husband, My little brother, my great dane and me.... ans also so much baby SHIT that I just HAD to have that I can put my feet in the floorboard and am forced to sit crossed legged.About 10 mintues into this 8 1/2 hour drive I start having contractions! So for the next 8 1/2 hours We timed the contractions that were about 5 mintues apart.. IT WAS A VERY LONG DRIVE.. I was not thinking stright of I would have found a hostpital RIGHT THEN! We finially get home, Kevin and I go srtight to the hospital after we take all the baby SHIT out of the car and drop my brother and dog at the house. At the hospital they tell me I am 4 cm and bludging and I was NOT going home! We are transfered to a hospital that had a nicu. I was SO scared! They told me all of the horrible things that could be wrong with my son and then tell me that they are going to just let me go on with labor. Labor was so easy for me.. I was 9 cm when i finially got my epi. At 4:25 pm Feb 24th 2009 (19 hours after we got home) Chase Thomas was born weighing in at 5 lbs 8 oz and 21 1/2 inches long!Healtly as a horse! He is now 17 months old and doing WONDERFUL! And almost one year to the day I found out that I am expecting again! We found out that it was another little boy and I am having my baby shower on the 25th of July and PRAYING that we do not have a repeat. :)
