The Day I Had My Beautiful Daughter

It was June 20th 2010. I was 38 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I was big and pregnant and in so much pain. I had been in inactive labor since I was 7 months pregnant and it seemed like it wasn't getting any better. Feet swollen, really bad braxton hicks. I was just ready for all of it to be over. I woke around 9am to breakfast with my grandmother and my mother. My mom was so ready for this baby to be here too, so she gave me some Castor oil. We had been trying everything to get the little one out. Walking, fresh pineapples, fried eggplant. EVERYTHING! Our last resort was the Castor oil. I had about a teaspoon of the oil and went back to sleep. I awoke around 1 with serious stomach pains, but blew it off as the Castor oil making me crampy and a feeling of needing to use the restroom. I went to the bathroom to pee and felt a little relief. I went back to lay down but it seemed the pains were getting worst as I laid and the bed. I called my mother to my room where she found me crying my eyes out in pain. It was the worst. We headed to the hospital around 3:30p.m after packing the car up with bags, pillows, etc. I was checked into the hospital's triage room where I was hooked to monitors . After about an hour my water broke and I was admitted into the labor and delivery room. I was only a 1 1/2 cm. I hadn't planned on an epidural because I wanted to feel everything, but my mind was quickly changes. My contractions were excruciating. At 2cm I was given my epidural after pleading with nurses, janitors, the patient tech person to either give me an epidural or just give me an c-section which they weren't going to do. I quickly dilated from 2 to 7 cm. It took me about an hour to get to 10. I watched as I gave birth to my baby girl. 7 pushes and she was out. 9:51pm 7 lbs 5 ounces.
