My birth story

Submitted by cayandmom10
I know the exact day when i got pregnant it was Martin Luther King day 2009 i found out i was pregnant Valentines day . I cryed for days our son was only 10 months old i was on birth control so i questioned how could this happen to me? Well i soon learned to embrace my pregnancy and the new baby and to much surprise it changed my life more then i had expected. At my 8 week check up i got bad news i had Partial Placenta Previa where the placenta was covering most of the bottom of my cervix most the time it moves to where women can have a normal delivery. I was immediatelly put on bed rest no intimacy and i had to go in for ultrasounds every 3 weeks and see my doctor every week. I am young i never ever had a problem this bad i was scared. I had no morning sickness i didnt feel pregnant at all with this pregnancy swear i could of been on that show i didnt know i was pregnant i had no cravings barely gained any weight no appetite yadda yadda yadda. My pregnancy went rather well they had to stop my labor only 3 times till my 30th week we got the best news ever my Placenta had shifted enough for me to have a normal delivery so October 19th at 5pm i went into the hospital to be induced i swear they stop my labor too much cause a week before on the 13th of October they attempted to induce my labor and it failed my cervix refused to dialate. So this time around they put the Cervadil up behind my cervix and by 9pm that night i was having contractions but they felt like period cramps i continued to walk around shower and eat during my labor . The next morning my contractions stopped i was immediatelly put on Petocin to induce my labor once again i must say with in an hour i went from closed and 0 percent effaced to 2 centimeters i couldnt relax i was anxious and uncomfortable the contractions once again felt like period cramps nothing horrible at all which i had expected. Well since i couldnt relax my doctor ordered an Epidural they tryed 9 times to put it in and that failed because of a car accident 3 years ago i do not have a space for the Epidrual they have never not been able to get an Epidural i was the first patient ever to have a failed Epidural in that hospital at around 4pm they put me in the Jacuzzi tub within 5 minutes i went from 2 to 10 centimeters i didnt make it to the bed the doctor didnt make it in to the room my daughter flew right out in the tub the nurse grabbed my daughter the cord was wrapped around her neck 3 times and she had a knot in her cord. I lost alot of blood due to my Placenta tearing i ended up having 3 blood transfusions and spent 2 weeks in the hospital i was so sick . I spent the 1st week in the ICU they couldnt get my bleeding to stop. I tryed to breastfeed but was to sick i barely was able to bond with my daughter as she wasnt aloud to come to the ICU once i got better they brought me to the nursery to see her and hold her. I tryed to breastfeed again and managed sucess. My experience with my pregnancy and delivery has taught me to never take life for granted. I have matured more since the birth of my daughter and i have more motivation to conquer my goals my dreams in my life. And i owe it all to my beutiful baby girl .
