Kylee's Birth Story
Submitted by wirecorey
I had a very easy pregnancy—no morning sickness—and the only thing I could do was eat meat. Kylee was due November 26, 2009, Thanksgiving Day. But she came on November 14. A week before she was born, I was put on bed rest because of blood pressure issues—it drove me crazy. My husband took me to dinner for our anniversary two days before she was born, and that set everything into motion. We went to the hospital that night and were sent home because I wasn't far enough along. Then the same thing the next night: They told me to take a Benadryl and a hot bath and get a good night's sleep—that that would stop the pain I had.
I woke up at 8 the next morning in pain, and waited until 10 to wake up my husband because I couldn't time the contractions, and made him wait till 12 to take me to the hospital. When we got there, I was 8cm and my water was about to pop. They immediately gave me an epidural and later another, and Kylee was born by 5:28 PM. She came out with her hand next to her head, and I cleared her head and shoulders at the same time, which was funny because while I was pushing, I could have sworn that I felt something moving, like little fingers, lol.
She was 6 pounds, 11 ounces and was the most wonderful thing I could ever do. My husband adores her and she just turned 1.
