Shane's Birth Story

Well, I found out that I was pregnant on Feb. 11, 2009. I was so surprised. I was just a kid myself ... I'm 16 and pregnant. I was so scared. I was already engaged to the father but was so afraid and clueless. I didn't know how I would go to school and the doctor's appointments.
I found out that I was high-risk around four months so I had to go to a hospital two hours away from where I live every time for a visit. On September 12 I was having these cramps that just felt like menstrual cramps, so I just laid down and thought they would go away. A little later, I started hurting worse so I told my mom and we started to go to the hospital. The two-hour drive was the most frightening because my baby had turned breech four days before and I thought that he would be delivered in the car.
When we finally got to the hospital, my contractions were one to two minutes apart. The doctors had me walk for an hour to see if he would turn, but he didn't, so they finally performed a C-section at 12:28 AM and my husband and I saw our son for the first time. His name is Shane Corben and he is now 2 months old. I'm still getting used to having him but my family is my everything :)
