MJ's Birth Story

Submitted by mjraison117
At 33 weeks, I started having regular contractions. After three hours, we decided to go to the hospital. They put me on magnesium sulfate to stop the contractions. I went back and forth, on and off the magnesium sulfate, trying to keep him in as long as possible. But as soon as they'd take me off, I'd start contracting again.

So after a week in the hospital, they finally said enough is enough. At about 8 in the morning, they started Pitocin and broke my water. At about 10, I was told I'm 8cm. The nurse left the room to go get everything ready while my husband and sister listened to me scream through the contractions. Next thing we know, the baby's here!!

Without a doctor or nurse in the room, and me on my side, I pushed my six-weeks-early baby out right onto the bed!! My husband went out to tell the nurses, but they only thought the baby was crowning! Boy were they surprised!!
