VC-J's Birth Story
Submitted by VC-J
At 37+ weeks into my pregnancy, my blood pressure was higher than usual, so I decided to go to the hospital. To my surprise, they warded me and fed me saltless food. Oh, how I longed for the taste of REAL food.
Every day they checked me to see whether or not I was dilating, but no changes. On the third day, now at 38 weeks, they decided it was time to induce labour. LABOUR, I thought to myself, wouldn't be so bad since this is my third child. Well, I was wrong. After the second incision of the tablet used to induce, my water broke, my labour was kick-started when the doctor checked my cervix and finished breaking my water bag—it was horrible. Normally when you get a contraction and you push, the pain naturally goes away. But that was not the case for me. When I pushed with the pain, I got more pain, so I pulled him back into me. I became hysterical. I finally got a little more control over myself and started pushing.
Wow, it was not an easy road, but 30 minutes later, he made his grand appearance. Thank God it was finally over. And I vowed never to do it again!
