Well, I was 18 years old and had no clue what I was getting myself into. My due date was Feb. 8, 2009. Then I was ordered to get another ultrasound because they couldn't tell the sex, so when I went and had that cold jelly all over my hot belly, they told me my due date had changed and that I was going to have a baby girl! In my head I was hoping for a sooner due date, but that was not the case—they told me that it moved from the 8th to the 18th!
The 18th came and went and it was now the 24th! They sent me for a non-stress test and checked her fluid in the sac and said that everything was fine and that I just barely made it past the amount that needed to be in there so they weren't going to induce me! Ugh! At this point I was huge and so very ready for my baby girl to come out!
After that appointment, I had another one with my OB later on and decided to ask them to help me out here! So they decided to scrap my membranes! PAIN! PRESSURE!
Well, on the 26th I went to buy my first car. I had left around 4 PM and it took two hours to get to the car! 6 PM I started getting some cramps and just thought it was dehydrated contractions because I had been to two different hospitals 3X in the past weeks because of them. I paid them no attention and kept on with the car-buying process. I got home with my first car and by then it was around 8 PM and I was still cramping so I decided to order some pizza and drink a lot of water.
11 PM comes around and I was convinced that I needed to go to the hospital! My contractions were three mins apart! And the hospital was an hour away!
We finally arrived and they admitted me! I was dilated at a 5.75 cm! YAY! The past times I had went, they kept telling me I was at a 2! Ugh! So frustrating! I was at a 2 for a whole month!
Anyway, I went through a lot of hard contractions for hours and finally got an epidural at 8 cm dilated and had my daughter on Feb. 27 at 12:35 PM!
