Claire's Birth Story

I was sitting at home hanging out with my best friend Kylie when I felt the baby sort of do this weird kick thing. I then started to feel slight cramping, and I was freaking out! Kylie seemed to notice, and immediately took on my memo. We sort of just sat there for a while, until I was sure that they were contractions, and that my baby was coming. She packed my bag, while I called my boyfriend and my dad. Nathan rushed over to my house (he only lived 4 houses down at the time) with his overnight gear packed and ready to go. My dad was very calm, and said he would meet me at the hospital. Nathan drove while I sat in the back with Kylie rubbing my stomach while I cringed every so often. We got to the hospital, and got a room. My dad arrived, sort of unhappy to see Nathan, but being very supportive. Anyway, I was dilated 6. The contractions crept closer and closer together, and I dilated another centimeter about ever hour and a half. I was offered an epidural numerous times, but I just couldn't stand the needle, so I rejected. Finally, the doctor checked at said, "10." I was so nervous! I pushed and pushed until finally Claire Abigail came into this world at 1:59 am on October 15, 2007. Claire is now 3 years old, and is going to have a baby brother or sister in 6 months :)
