Infant Weight Gain with Formula and Breast Milk
Which makes babies gain weight faster, breast milk or formula?
Formula can help babies gain weight at a faster rate than breast milk. That said, it's important to remember that bigger isn't always better. Often, parents assume that faster weight gain is better for their babies, when, in fact, it is abnormal for young children to gain weight quickly, especially in the first few weeks of life. Rapid weight gain in babies has been associated with an increased risk of childhood and adolescent obesity. Talk to your doctor if you're concerned about your baby's weight gain.
