Your Newborn Baby's (Not So Perfect) Face
You just gave birth to a beautiful baby—and to be honest, he's sort of funny looking! You're ready to take pictures to send to friends and family, but you're wondering if maybe you should wait 'til he looks more—well, normal. Here are a few of the (totally normal) characteristics of your newborn's face:
report abuse- Your newborn might have a really puffy face. After all that amniotic fluid and that long trip through the birth canal, he's probably a little bloated!
- Life in the uterus might have squashed your newborn's face or ears a bit. Don't worry—chances are good that they'll un-squash by the time you get home from the hospital.
- Those white spots that look like tiny pimples on your newborn baby's face? Don't worry—he hasn't his adolescence yet. They're totally harmless and should disappear within a few weeks.
