Sweet Apple Pumpkin Baby Food Recipe

Put your hands where we can see them and step away from that jar of baby food. Today is DIY baby food day and we promise it will be painless. (And your baby will l-o-v-e every spoonful. Promise.)
- 2 large sweet potatoes
- 2 Granny Smith apples
- 1 8-ounce can puréed pumpkin
Peel sweet potatoes and cut into large chunks.
Place into steamer basket; cook over boiling water for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, peel and core apples.
Place in steamer basket with sweet potatoes and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
Once potatoes and apples are tender, place potatoes, apples and pumpkin in food processor or blender and process until smooth.
Pour into ice cube trays and freeze mixture overnight.
Remove from ice-cube trays and place in large, resealable plastic bag. Use 1-2 cubes at a time for baby's fruit or vegetable serving.

- Too easy? Use fresh pumpkin instead, but be sure you buy a pie pumpkin and roast it slowly in the oven for 1 hour before puréeing.
