Once we've introduced cereal, what are some good first foods for my baby?

I always suggest opting for vegetables as baby's first solid foods. If we don't teach our children to appreciate vegetables at an early age, it will be increasingly difficult as they get older. If you can make the veggies baby food yourself, great! Otherwise buy one of the organic baby foods available on the market. After baby has acquired a taste for veggies, then you can add in fruits.

Personally, I'm a big proponent of the avocado as a first vegetable. It is filled with all of the healthy fats your baby needs, and it is very satisfying. Since you are going to have to mash any food she eats, another benefit is that avocados were practically made for mashing.
