At what age do I start feeding my baby solid foods?

In my opinion, the longer you wait to introduce baby to solid food, the better. Usually around 9 to 12 months old is ideal, depending on the number of teeth your baby has and the maturity of the infant. The current recommendation from the World Health Organization is that no solid foods are introduced to a baby for the first six months. Remember that breast milk is the perfect food for the first year of life!

However, like so many other parenting decisions, a lot of this will be instinctual as you watch your baby's cues (such as a decrease in your baby's tongue-thrusting reflex and reaching for other people's food). You are going to "know" things you never thought you would, simply by the bond you share.
