Kids Food Safety and Cooking Meat
How can I be sure I've cooked my meat enough?
The best way to be sure that meat is fully cooked is to check the internal temperature using a food thermometer. This is important for kids' food safety.
Here are guidelines for safe minimum internal temperatures:
- Beef, veal and lamb steaks, roasts, and chops: 145 degrees F.
- All cuts of pork: 160 degrees F.
- Ground beef, veal and lamb: 160 degrees F.
- All poultry: 165 degrees F.
