Recall of Children's Benadryl Tablets and Junior Strength Motrin Caplets

Time to toss the Benadryl Fastmelts in cherry grape and the 24-count bottles of Junior Strength Motrin caplets.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a voluntary recall certain versions of over-the-counter Tylenol, Benadryl and Motrin products made by health-care company McNeil Consumer Healthcare. Parents should stop using and throw out Children's Tylenol Meltaways, Benadryl Ultratabs, Motrin IB, ExtraStrength Tylenol and Tylenol PM.

A complete list of the recalled products is available at the recall Web site.

This recall is precautionary measure, as some of these products may have been stored with packing materials that contained trace amounts of a chemical called 2,4,6-tribromoanisole (TBA). The risk of serious adverse medical events is remote and no incidents have been reported.

Visit the recall Web site for information about receiving a refund or replacement for these medicines.
