Let your kids make some noise this Independence Day with a fun Fourth of July craft—make a noisemaker! Just fill an empty paper towel roll with bells, jazz-ify it with some stickers and glitter, and then shake it up!
- Noisemaker:Your kid.
- Noise tolerater:You.
- Paper towel roll
- Jingle bells (from your local craft store)
- Red, white and blue tempera paint
- Red, white and blue curly ribbon
- Glitter glue, rhinestones and patriotic stickers
- Scrapbook paper
- Clear packing tape
- Red, white or blue construction paper
- Pen or pencil
Have your kid paint an empty paper towel roll red, white and blue or, instead, help her cover it in patriotic decorations like star stickers, red, white and blue construction paper, rhinestones, whatever!
Trace the end of the paper towel roll onto a piece of construction paper to create two circles. Then, help her cut them out.
Place one of the circles over one end of the paper towel roll and seal shut by putting clear packing tape over the end.
Pour the jingle bells into the tube.
Cut a bunch of curly ribbon and tape it onto both ends of the noisemaker.
Head out to your local Fourth of July parade and paint the town red, white and blue with your new 4th of July craft!
